Have any of you ever heard of the Loch Ness Monster?  What is it?  15 year old Luke earned the nickname "Loch" when he was a little boy and told everyone he saw one of these lake monsters.

Actually, Loch's father is a scientist whose job is to search this lake in Vermont for these dinosaur-like creatures.  People keep claiming that they see them even though these monsters have supposedly been extinct for over 10 million years.

One day Loch and his sister, Zaidee, discover one of the baby water dinosaurs and nickname it "Wee Beastie".

The only problem is that their father's greedy boss is close to finding the babies and their whole family . . . and he doesn't care whether these creatures live or die.  Likewise, the adult creatures have no problem attacking humans when they feel threatened . . .

If you like gore, this is a book for you.  (Davinna Artibey, Center for International Studies, Denver Public Schools, CO)
