This is the story of a poor immigrant laborer who lived on the outskirts of Los Angeles.  Simon Rodia came to this country and settled in Watts.  He was a quiet man who kept to himself.  He didn't speak much English.  The neighbors thought he was a bit strange because he had a habit of picking up things that others had thrown away.  He picked up bottles and pieces of broken tile and even faucets that were thrown away.  But when the neighbors found out what Simon was doing with all these things, they were truly amazed.  Simon Rodin was a real person and this is his story.
