Twelve-year-old Locomotion and his little sister, Lili, are living in separate foster care homes following the death of their parents five years ago. Locomotion misses his sister terribly, and tells his story in the letters he writes to her describing his hopes and feelings for her, their parents and his life. He is worried that his foster mother may change her mind about keeping him when her own son returns home with a war injury. Locomotion prays for peace in the world while his understanding about his new family grows in ways he never expected.  (Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award nominee, 2011)
