What
a name. Melanin Sun. What could his mother have been thinking?
The nurse tried to talk her out of it but she had her reasons. He's
so dark and yet he shines like the sun. For thirteen years, it's
just been Melanin and his mother. Sometimes Mel thinks he's a bit
strange. He likes things that other's don't. He loves to collect
stamps -- especially the save the planet type. His friends tease
him about his hobby. He also likes to write. He's always been
quiet so his mother told him to write the things he can't say. And
now it's a natural part of his life. Things are going on just as
usual until the day his mother tells him something that will change his
life forever. She tells him she is in love with a woman. She's
in love with Kristen, a white lawyer that his mother met at the fitness
center. There is just no way that Mel can accept this! But
what else can he do? |
