Gone Fishing is about a boy who is very excited to spend the day fishing with his father, until his younger sister tags along. Sam is sure she won’t be able to keep still or quiet and will ruin his day, but as Sam finds out, his little sister may be as much of a fisherman as he is. The book is a novel in verse and contains many different poetic forms to express the emotions of the characters as they go fishing together. (Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award, 2015)
