In 1872, life was very different for girls.  They had very little say in their lives.  And for 15 year old Rachel, life has gotten worse.  Her family has moved to Boston and sold her beautiful horse.  And now her father is really getting on her case about her behavior.  But when a arsonist begins setting fires in Boston, horses are beginning to get sick.  One of them is seriously burned and Rachel convinces her father to let her take care of the horse.  And Rachel decides she wants to be a veterinarian.  But that is definitely not something her father will agree to.  But the horses need someone who can help them.  Will her father give in and let her follow her dreams?
