Have you ever heard of Mahatma Gandhi?  He was born in India a long time ago.  His family was well off and served the ruling British Empire.  As Gandhi grew up and learned about his country, he became convinced that India should break from England and become independent.  Gandhi had studied in England and had nothing against the country.  He just believed that India should ruled itself.  Gandhi was the first national figure to employ non-violence as a weapon.  His life has had a great impact on many leader since his time.
