Sammy Keyes life is complicated enough. She lives in a senior citizen's  building with her grandmother and has to sneak in and out using the fire  escape. And Heather Acosta has been calling up Jared, the most popular  boy in school, and pretending to be Sammy. It is really embarrassing,  especially when Jared's girlfriend  starts  yelling at Sammy in front of the  whole school.

So when Sammy decides to pull a Halloween prank on the Bush Man,  she isn't really looking for trouble. She's just going to knock on the door  and run. But when she knocks on the door, the door opens…and there's  no one there. And so begins the mystery of Sammy Keyes and the   Skeleton Man, by Wendelin van Draanen.
