Haven't we all imagined thowing off our old self and emerging as a reinvented, better person?  Well Bessica certainly does.  She wants to leave her old self behind in elementary school and emerge as a new person to start middle school.  And it is just not going to work out so well.  From a disastrous trip to the hairdressers, to the loss of her best friend, middle school is not going so great for her.  Bessica encounters many of the middle school cliches but we find the humor in these events.  Will she be able to survive her new self?
