When Violet, a big dog, drops her green fuzzy tennis ball down down down a prairie dog hole, mayhem begins. Prairie dogs become covered in tennis ball fuzz. The news spreads and more and more prairie dogs want a piece of that green fuzz until a war begins. Finally, Big Bark, the largest prairie dog, steals all the fuzz. But he won’t get to keep it. A giant eagle swoops down and steals the fuzz for herself, almost stealing Big Bark, too. Peace finally returns to the prairie dog hole. Then Violet returns with an orange tennis ball! What do you think will happen next?  (Pennsylvania Young Reader’s Choice Awards nominee, 2008-2009)
