A sighted Jacob has no place in the blind community of Harmony.  In this sequel to Truesight, we find Jacob crossing the desert trying to make his way to the city of Melville.  This is a city filled with sighted people and Jacob is sure that is where his friend Delaney has gone.  Along the way, he is befriended by Xander -- a retired mercenary who wants to forget  his past and live in isolation.  He agrees to help Jacob find Delaney but what they find is certainly not what Jacob expects.
