Julie meets Jim after spending six months on the streets all alone. When he offers her a new life, Julie accepts and her lifelong transformation begins. In time, Jim and Julie fall in love, and just as swiftly as Jim comes into Julie’s life, he’s gone. Four years pass since Jims’ death, and Julie is ready to start dating again when she meets Richard. Despite the fact that Richard is rich and successful Julie feels like he’s possibly hiding something, and decides to break things off with Richard when she realizes that she has feelings for her best friend Mike. The jealousy that Richard has formed turns into rage, then obsession, and Julie finds herself watching every move that she makes. Between the strange phone calls and ‘accidental’ meetings of the two, Julie is once again living in a real life nightmare that is spawned by dishonesty and envy. Richards’s desirous intentions become so powerful and so venomous that Julie soon fears for her life. The only protection she has is her instinct, and what good is that when she can’t prove anything? (Heather Gostinski, student, Mansfiled Jr. Sr. High School)
