Do you sometimes feel invisible?  Maybe you feel as if people don't know you even exist.  Well, that is the way twelve-year-old Xandra feels.  She is the next to youngest in her large family.  All her siblings are very successful in what they do and she doesn't feel very close to them.  Her parents are very distant and she doesn't think they even are aware of her.  So she spends a lot of time alone.  One thing she likes to do is take care of animals.  When she comes across a wounded animal, she will try to nurse it back to health.  She has cared for skunks and owls and other wild animals in the corner of her basement.  When she cares for a young egret, it leaves her a feather that Xandra believes is magic.  Could that be true? Xandra's friend Belinda explains the world of the unseen and what the feather means.
