Julie and Ashleigh are high school sophomores who have been next-door neighbors and best friends since childhood.  Ashleigh is an enthusiast, someone who jumps from one craze to the next, totally immersing herself in the latest passion. Julie has always followed along. Now Ashleigh has just read Pride and Prejudice and is determined she and Julie should model their lives after the heroines in the Jane Austen novel. Julie doesn’t want to encourage this obsession, but it’s hard to stop an enthusiast!  Ashleigh convinces Julie it's time for each of them to find their very own Mr. Darcy.  The girls practice old-fashioned dances and plan to crash a very ritzy boys' prep school cotillion. They try to and eventually meet some very cute guys. So what’s the problem? Both girls end up with a crush on the same guy.  You don’t have to be a Jane Austen aficionado to enjoy this book, but you will see references to her work. This is a delightful, funny and smart romance novel.  (Jean B. Bellavance for Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Awards, 2007-2008)
