Manami and her family are told to
leave their homes. The soldiers have come to escort them.
They are to pack a suitcase and take up residence in a
prison camp in the desert! What about Manami's dog? Who
will take care of him? As a last minute decision, Manami
decides to hide him undere her coat. Soon the dog is
discovered and left behind. Manami feels sadness and guilt
for abandoning her loyal friend. She finds she is unable
to speak and resorts to drawing pictures of ,Yujiin, her
dog and helps her mother tend to a small garden. Will
Manami overcome her grief? Will her family get to return
to their home? Will she ever find Yujiin again? (Pennsylvania
