Richard Byrd was a great explorer
. He was determined to be the first person to fly
over both the North Pole and the South Pole. He and fellow
explorer Roald Amundsen each wanted to be the first
person to reach the North Pole. Before his trip,
Byrd was given a dog that had been a stray. He
named the dog Igloo and took him with him on his
expedition. This is the story of Byrd's trip as
told through his dog's eyes.
