This book is about a young, troubled boy about 17 years old who is telling you about the day when he left his school, Pencey Prep.  He leaves because he is getting kicked out and he wants to have some freedom before they call his parents. The whole book is over a course of three days and is all about the conflict he encounters over the time he is living on the street. Also, he tells you everything he thinks at that time. When he finally sees his sister again, he reveals to you what he wants to be in life, as well as reveals the title. In my perspective, J.D. Salinger wrote this book very well.  (Annie Jackson, student)
