Laura Ingalls Wilder has entertained us for years with her stories of growing up during the later part of the 19th century.  We have traveled west with her as her family settled in different places.  There were two years of her life that she never wrote about in her books.  She did leave some journals about that time of her life.  This book is the story of those two years.  Laura is 9 years old and the farm is once again ravaged by grasshoppers.  After two years of lost crops, Pa just can't face staying in Walnut Grove.  He gets a job in the town of Burr Oak, Iowa as a hotel manager.  The family leaves their home in Minnesota and travels to Iowa.  Join Laura and her family as they experience life in the Old Town in the Green Groves.
