Booktalk #1

This book is full of surprises! Harry is made Quidditch Captain. Harry falls in love with Ginny, his best friend’s sister. He gets the Half Blood Princes old potions book which has so many secret shortcuts for potions that makes him excel farther in potions and better than any one else which makes his best friend Hermione really mad. Harry also takes private lessons with Dumbledore, which involves going into other people’s memories to learn more about Voldemort. They need to learn as much as they can so that when the final battle comes between Harry and Voldemort, Harry knows everything he needs to defeat him. Through the book Harry believes that Malfoy is planning something. Harry is not sure what he is planning and even though he keeps telling people no one seems to believe him. While Harry and Dumbledore are away the dark mark is cast over the castle indicating that the death eaters have found a way in the castle. How did they get in? Does it have something to do with Snape and Malfoy? Can Harry and Dumbledore save the day? You’ll just have to read it to find out.  (David L. Smith Jr.,  Mansfield High School)
