| In
the third book about Rowan, he travels with his mother to the Maris folk
on the coast. Jiller is destined to chose the new Keeper of the Crystal.
The Keeper will lead the Maris when the old Keeper dies. If a new
Keeper is not chosen before his death, the Crystal will die and the Maris
will lose protection from the Zebak. When Jiller is poisoned
on her way, Rowan breaks tradition by declaring a new way to chose a new
Keeper. The three candidates must travel to an island in search of
a cure for Jiller. |
