Combining history, magic and
folklore, this colorful tale offers a glimpse into an
encounter between two fascinating but marginalized
cultures--the Rom and the Mixtec Indians--while telling
the heart-warming story of an unlikely friendship that
spans generations. Teo’s grandfather is a master
storyteller and tells tales of a mysterious Romani girl
called the Lightning Queen. Teo gets even more involved in
the story when his grandfather asks him for help tracking
down this magical woman from his past. This is a story of
love, loss and family that appeals to children, teens and
adults alike. (Vermont
