After Langston witnesses his best friend being shot to death, he wishes that guns were never invented.  When his science teacher shows him how it is possible to travel back in time to witness history, Langston becomes determined to take it one step further to actually travel back and change history.  Perhaps if gun powder was never invented, Langston's friend would still be alive.  So off he goes in a mad dash to prevent Roger Bacon from discovering gun powder.  But is that all it will take to keep Neely alive?
