For
Cass Levine, 8th grade may be a changing point in her life. Trying to figure
out what she is -- orphan, invincible girl or third wheel -- she must face
life without her two best friends. They are both in the same group
at school but Cass is not with them. How can she endure school without
seeing her best friends in every class? Now she must try to make
new friends and get along with new classmates. When the new boy passes
her a note in class, she is not sure what he is talking about. What
does "go down the street" mean? Thus begins her friendship with Rod
Punkin. He is certainly not the type of kids she usually hangs around
with. He is a bit on the wild side. But the friendship becomes
important to Cass. When Rod is suddenly gone, Cass is desperate to
find out why he left so abruptly. |
