Ten-year-old Carrie has gotten the acting bug and she really wants to be in her mother's new play.  Actually, it's not her mother's play.  It's a play based on one of her mother's books.  It's the first time one of the books will be made into a play and it will be extra special because it will be performed in her mother's hometown in North Carolina.  But Carrie wants to get a role all on her own with no help from her mother.  And guess what!  She does!!  It's not the lead role but she is in the play.  Things seem to be going well until Carrie tells a secret to one of the other children in the play.  The result may just ruin the play for everyone.  Will she be able to make things right?
