The Book of Broken Hearts is a moving story of family, love, loss and trust. When you read this story, you are swept into Juju's life of longing. You feel her every emotion as she struggles with her father's aging mind, her feelings towards her "Romeo", and her tumultuous family life. What I loved the most was the integration of the conflict and the setting. Set in beautiful Colorado, the rich Puerto-Rican heritage is highlighted and makes this story even more intriguing. This is certainly a must read for anyone with at least one sibling, let alone three! (Prepared by: Abby Holdeman, Chapin High School, holdeman2011ala@gmail.com SCASL Young Adult Book Award, 2016)
