MELODY FOR NORA : ONE GIRL'S STORY IN THE CIVIL WAR
New York : Dufour, 1995.

ISBN 0863274250
The title of this book may be deceiving. The book is not about the United States civil war. This book takes place in 1992 at the beginning of the Irish civil war. Nora is a 14 year old living in Dublin. When her mother dies, she is sent to live with her aunt and uncle in a small town. Nora does not like living there and finds life in a small town to be pretty boring. Then she becomes fascinated with a young man named Jack. Jack has joined the Irregulars who are fighting against the peace accord with Britain. When Jack is injured, Nora nurses him back to health. In the process, she learns much about life.
