My mother clearly overreacted.  All I did was take the car out for a joy ride and ended up here in the jungle searching for a lame B-17 bomber from back in WWII.  Why she ever thought that spending time with my Uncle Todd would be a great idea beats me.  If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be in this situation that I am in now.  I wouldn’t be stuck, lost without the group and no supplies.  I mean, I admit, I can be hard to get along with sometimes ever since my father was killed in his pursuit of helping others, but that doesn’t mean she had the right to send me away. What happens if no one finds me? What if I die here?  It’ll be all her fault because it’s not like I deserved this punishment. *shudder* I sure hope I can survive through this.  (Prepared by: BriAnne Baxley, Berkeley County Public Library, South Carolina Junior Book Award)
