As a child, Ken Nedimyer loved the ocean. Growing up on the Florida Keys, Ken learned how to scuba dive where he explored the coral reef. At one point, he discovered that the corals were dying and no one knew why.  Years later, Ken owned a live rock farm where he noticed that some staghorn corals had begun to grow. Ken and his daughter had an idea that they could grow coral colonies to help rebuild the reefs. Slowly, the reefs began to come back and reproduce all due to Ken and his Coral Restoration Foundation. This beautifully illustrated book begins and ends with “It starts with one.” And this story proves that statement to be true! (New Jersey Garden State Children's Book Award 2021)
