I
hope none of you ever experience war close up. Unfortunately, too many
young people are involved in terrible wars around the world every day.
For 11-year-old Zana Dugolli, the experience is the ethnic wars in Kosovo.
Zana's family is Albanian and Zana has seen her father and two of her brothers
killed during an Serbian attack on her village. She is injured in
the attack and spends months in the hospital. When she finally returns
home after months alone in the hospital, everything has changed.
Her mother is having trouble coping with all her loses. Her brother
has joined a terrorist group. And there is madness all around.
Can one young girl still find kindness and compassion within the cruelty
all around? |
