 Ever hear of the Halloween prank played by Orson Welles way back in 1938?  Well, this book tells the true story of how Mr. Welles, one of Hollywood’s best actor/directors, chose to retell the story of the Martians coming to Earth to conquer us with super duper weapons and technology.  The story was written decades earlier by the English science fiction writer H.G. Wells (no relation!), but Orson made it into a radio play, and set it in New Jersey.  Although he told the audience that this was a play, PEOPLE ACTUALLY THOUGHT THE MARTIANS WERE INVADING NEW JERSEY!!  Read this book for a very funny tale of how your grandparents were tricked as a Halloween treat a long time ago!  (Jean B.
