Ava lives with her guardian, works at a bookstore, and enjoys spending time with her boyfriend. Her life seems ideal, except she has the ability to make fire with her mind. She has worked hard to be able to control it, and only uses this ability when her contract with the Coterie requires her skills. The Coterie asks her to do the unspeakable, kill a close family friend. Ava and her friends cause an explosion and escape the Coterie headquarters. They are hunted by the Coterie’s henchmen. All she wants to do is prevent what happened to her mother from happening to another. Fans of the Twilight series will find this novel exciting.
