JUST A SUMMER ROMANCE
New York : Holiday House, 1987.
IL YA RL 6.1
ISBN 0823406490
The book is in two parts. The first half has Melanie in pursuit of her first summer romance. Her brother hits Justin Hart in the jaw with a frisbee. Mel follows Justin around the island and succeeds in breaking in to Justin's mysterious solitude. The second half of the book has Mel back at school off the vacation island and oddly uncomfortable when she finds out about Justin's picture in People Magazine. Why didn't he tell her about himself? Why didn't she trust him? Part of her told herself that he was sparing her from the hassles of the truth; part of her doubted his sincerity with her. She tracked him down once on the island and now she'll try to track him down in New York City and find out once and for all where the real Justin Hart is coming from.
