Have
you ever heard of the Day of Saint Francis of Assisi? It is celebrated
each year on October 4th. It is a day celebrated in Mexico when people
bring their animals to the church to be blessed. It is believed that
the blessing will keep the animals free from disease and predators for
the next year. Young Rosalia is excited about bringing her pet chichen
Blanca, to the padre for the blessing. When she goes out to get her,
Blanca is nowhere to be found. All Rosalie can find is a feather.
Perhaps the padre would be able to bless the feather and Blance will be
protected. All the children make fun of Rosalie but she is determined.
What do you think will happen? To find out, read BLANCA'S FEATHER
by Antonio Hernandez Madrigal. |
