Booktalk #2

Just another day at detention. Marcus isn’t a bad kid, it’s just that lately he’s been having a hard time getting along with his teachers...and his parents for that matter. Seventh grade is tougher than he ever imagined. While serving his time after school, Marcus’ situation gets even worse. He sees a frightening and unbelievable vision in the school hallway, and the scariest part is that no one else sees it! There’s a charging bull, a man wearing pajamas, and a broken display case. Marcus sees a message in the broken glass. It says, “Surrender the Key.” What key? And who is the strange man? Marcus decides to enlist the help of his two best friends, Lu and Theo. Together they unravel the mystery, which leads to a magical, supernatural library full of unfinished stories, ghosts, curses, and secrets from Marcus’ past. In addition, there’s an evil shape-shifter who is trying to destroy the library.  Will Marcus, Lu and Theo be able to save the library and catch the boggin before it’s too late? This book is the first installment in The Library series which will follow the further adventures of Marcus, Lu and Theo. (Garden State Children's Book Awards nominee, 2020)
