Sixth grade is hard for the new kid, Scott Parry. Not only is he having trouble making friends and dealing with the teasing for being brainy, but he is being bullied by Jimmy Dolan, one of the bigger football players in the sixth grade. Things begin to change when popular quarterback, Chris Conlan, comes to his defense against Jimmy and the two boys become friends. Chris convinces Scott to join the team even though he doesn’t seem to have any special talents on the field. But these two friends know how to bring out the best in each other and their surprising moves on and off the field will have you cheering.  (Pennsylvania Young Reader’s Choice Awards nominee, 2008-2009)
