London, Jack.
THE CALL OF THE WILD
New York : Simon and Schuster, 1995
IL 5-8  RL 6.0
ISBN  0027594556
The beginning of the book starts out talking about a dog named, “Buck.”  Buck is the main character of this book and he lives in a big house in the Santa Clara Valley, California.

During the first few pages of the book, it tells how Buck loved hunting and outdoor things which made him stronger.  Buck gets stolen from California and brought to Alaska where is he going to be a sled dog.  Will he survive?

When I read The Call of the Wild, I was very impressed by how Buck survives a very bad and cruel treatment in the land of Alaska.

Jack London’s book The Call of the Wild was well written and I think everyone should read it.  (Ricky M.,  8th grade student, Rundlett Middle School)
