Leamas
witnesses the killing of the remaining link in his Berlin espionage ring.
He's been asked by Control to undertake one more assignment before coming
in from the cold. The plot involves his losing his credibility on the Control
side of operations so he could be approached by the East. When contact
is made, we watch Leamas weave the details of his past adventures . With
him, we work out the direction his being planted is taking. With him, it
isn't until the very end of the trial that the pieces are finally put together
to reveal the real nature of the plot. |
