Young Hussein lives with his Roma family in a small village in Bulgaria.  Some people call them Gypsies, but they are Roma people whose ancestors migrated from India.  During the 1980s, the government decided that all citizens who were not ethnic Bulgarian would need to change their identities to choose Christian names.  This is the story on one of them.  Although this is a work of fiction, it is based on the author's real story.
