 Have you ever done something on a dare?  And then wished you hadn't?  Moralin leaves her walled city on a dare.  But then she is kidnapped the the Arkera, a clan that she has been taught is her people's mortal enemy.  While living with the Arkera, Moralin begins to wonder why they are to be feared.  Her feelings toward the Arkera people begin to soften.  She forms an alliance with Figt, the girl who is her jailer.  The two girls become close friends and set off on a quest to rescue her brother.
