AMERICA)

As
he waved goodbye to his brother, he thought about how lucky Everett was
to be going off to fight in the war. By the time Teddy was old enough,
the war would be over. Everett would surely come home with a chest
full of medals and never let Teddy forget what a hero he was. Now
that both Teddy's father and brother were in the war, Teddy was the man
of the house. But at 10-years-old, he didn't feel like much of a
man. When his mother and sister come down with the Spanish flu, Teddy
must rise to the occasion. He is the only one who can care for them.
He doesn't think he can do it without help. Can he? Will he
be able to help his family? |
