THE CHICKEN DOESN'T SKATE
New York : Scholastic Press, 1996.

ISBN 0590853015
Ah, the dreaded school science project. Mrs. Bag's 6th grade class must come up with ideas by the end of the week. When Milo Neal said he was going to do a project on "The Complete Life Cycle of a Link in the Food Chain", Mrs. Bag was delighted. After all, Milo was the son of a famous scientist so this project has the potential to be really special. When Milo brings his project to school, the class goes wild. Milo intends to raise a chicken to adulthood right in the classroom. Everyone in the class falls in love with "Henrietta" the chicken and fight for the opportunity to care for her. The story is told from the point of view of several of the children. Find out how one small chicken turns a town upside down in THE CHICKEN DOESN'T SKATE by Gordon Korman.
