Aidan and Meg Falconer are in a juvenile detention center and their parents are facing life in prison. Aidan and Meg must prove that their parents are innocent. They set the detention center on fire with a kerosene lamp. The kids escape with a real prisoner named Miguel. The kids head to a cabin in Vermont to search for a picture to clear their parent's name. The kids are being chased by the police and stalked by a sinister attacker. Will they be able to find the evidence to clear their parent's good name before being captured?  (Jean B. Bellavance for Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Awards, 2006-2007)
