The year is 1663 and young Rebekah Hall has just arrived from England to join her father in Massachusetts Bay Colony. The Halls have come to America to practice their religion freely. The Puritans also take it upon themselves to convert the natives to Christianity. Rebekah begins to question this practice and comes to respect the Native American beliefs. She meets Mishannock, a young holy man from the Pawtauket tribe. These two fall in love but neither the Puritans nor the Pawtaukets approve. Will they find a way to be together or will Rebekah be sent back to England?
