 Meet Pearl.  Or as everyone calls her, Bean.  She and her best friend Henry both live in dysfunctional families.  Bean lives with her mother who has a drinking problem and her grandfather.  Henry lives with a mother who is afraid to go out.  They are pretty used to the ways things are going but that is all about to change.  When Bean’s grandfather dies, Bean is devastated but her mother seems to have been freed from a burden.  As the family secrets start to come out, Bean doesn’t know what to believe anymore.
