Booktalk #1

Just picture yourself in the middle of nowhere on a dessert like planet -- supposedly future earth.  You are the last of the Gunslinger and you are in pursuit of the man in black.  The man in black has never been seen until now so you want to find out who he is.   Well, as the Gunslinger pursues his apparent enemy he comes across many interesting characters.  One of the characters is a young boy named Jake; he likes the Gunslinger so he decides to go along with him. So if you want to follow the Gunslinger and Jake’s travels across many different environments read The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger. (8th grade student, Rundlett Middle School)

Booktalk #2

This was one of my favorite books by Stephen King. In it the last gunslinger is chasing the man in black to the dark tower. Along the way he has a love life and meets a small kid who he must betray to survive. Also he recollects his past life. Marvel comics did a comic of this and it was pretty accurate. I recommend this to people older then I am.(13). (Keaton Miller, 3millerhikers@sio.midco.net, K-12 student)
