Doughnuts melt in your mouth, thought Mr. Bing when he entered the bakery. After purchasing Arnie, a freshly baked chocolate frosted doughnut with 135 sprinkles counting his eyebrows he tries to eat Arnie. The shocked, talking doughnut tells him that he doesn’t want to be breakfast. Brainstorming other uses for Arnie, Mr. Bing comes up with a winning idea. Arnie can be his pet, a Doughnut- Dog. In this first chapter book Bowling Alley Bandit, Mr. Bing takes Arnie bowling with him as he competes with his friends on the Bingbat team to win a big bowling tournament. Just as the Bingbats finally succeed, almost winning the tournament, Mr. Bing starts throwing gutter balls. What is going wrong? Arnie suspects trickery.
