Inspired by Derek Jeter's childhood, this book tells the story of a time in his life where baseball, school and friends dominate.  Derek's baseball team is playing in the finals and he is very determined to win.  His friends on the team don't seem as dedicated.  As a matter of fact, his best friend Dave almost seems like he no longer wants to be Derek's friend.  What is going on?  Derek learns that the world isn't always fair.
