Rachel Porter is kidnapped and forced to live with the Sioux Indians during the 1840's. Rachel becomes accustomed to the Sioux way and is reluctant to leave when a rescue party finds her. After living with the Sioux for 7 years, Rachel does not remember her life as part of the white culture. Her adjustment is hard but she does come to love her family.
