Sunny Lewin anticipates an exciting summer in the Sunshine State, but her enthusiasm begins to fade when she gets to go on errands instead of going to Disney World and sleeps on the sofa bed in her grandfather’s retirement community. She starts to enjoy herself more when she becomes friends with a neighborhood boy who shares her interests in reading comic books and finding lost items for people in exchange for a few dollars. Sunny will eventually need to go back home again when summer ends, but feels anxious about life there with her older brother who has fallen into destructive behaviors with drug abuse. Maybe they have both changed over the summer? (Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award Program, 2017)
