ISBN 0688150934
Jason Hawthorne left his home in Seattle to seek his own fortune and find his freedom. His father and mother were dead while his older brothers were stuck working as laborers, a life he didn’t want for himself. After a year of wandering across the United States, Jason is working in New York when he hears the news of the gold rush on the Klondike of the Yukon Territory. This, Jason thought, was his chance to make his fortune! He rushed back to Seattle as fast as he could to collect the small inheritance his father had left him, in order to outfit himself for the adventure. Jason finds that he is too late as his brothers have gone off to the Yukon without him, taking his money with them. With little more than the clothes on his back, Jason sets off after his brothers. What an adventure he is in for! Follow Jason on the Yukon trail with all of its trials and tribulations in Jason’s Gold by Will Hobbs.  (New Hampshire Great Stone Face Committee)
